Working full time while doing uni as well is, unsurprisingly, quite a lot of work! My degree took me about 6 or 7 years I think. Sometimes I’d work 9-5, study on the train home, and study more when I get home and on weekends. I sometimes had to book holiday time off work to study for exams and to complete assignments. It takes a lot of self control and careful time management to fit it all in.

Most of the modules I studied were interesting but there were a few I didn’t like. I had one about “distributed teamwork” that was a proper nightmare. Half the team didn’t bother to do any work, and I spent so much time feeling stressed and wondering if I should just do their work myself. The only bonus was that I did make one friend that I still speak with years later!

The good side of doing uni while working full time was that when I finished university, I already had plenty of work experience, and I had no student debt. I’m not sure if that would be true for people now, because fees have gone up. 🙁
