Ooh, great question! I loved the chance to keep exploring things I found fascinating – there were loads of people, books, talks etc that let me get really deep into the stuff I found interesting. I also really enjoyed the extracurricular activities too. I wasn’t very sporty at school but got involved in quite a lot of things at uni, because people there didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to be sporty! It was quite fun to start again and reinvent myself a bit! And, maybe most importantly, I met people who are still among my best friends almost ten years later 🙂

Well, I really liked learning new skills, particularly how to program computers. I started teaching myself to make websites when I was 14 or 15, but university gave me a much deeper level of knowledge than I probably could have taught myself on my own.
Getting a degree at the end all of the study is pretty rewarding too! I didn’t bother to go to a degree ceremony or anything as I’ve never been much of a fan of formal stuff, and waiting around all day in a gown to pick up a bit of paper sounds a bit boring, but it’s nice to know that I’m a bit more eligible to employers once I have my degree.

Meeting new people, making new friends from all kinds of backgrounds and places. I loved the social side of University life! There is always someone to hang out with or an event to go to!
