When I was in year 5 and 6 I went to boarding school. We tried to sneak out at night… well, we thought we were being sneaky. We got caught pretty quickly! I can’t remember what our punishment was though.

The thing that caused the most trouble I’ve had in school was actually when I was a teacher! My year nine chemistry class was doing a practical where you had to heat a clamped boiling tube with a Bunsen burner, and I realised one group was burning the rubber on their clamp – it was making some horrible black smoke and they weren’t doing anything about it! I quickly carried it out to the prep room and came back into my lab – only to see another group of students staring calmly at their clamp stand… WHICH WAS FULLY ON FIRE!! I made a very loud noise and started trying to put it out with a fire blanket. Soon three more teachers had come in to help me sort everything out, and eventually we put it out, but not before one girl nearly had an asthma attack… Nightmare. There were a lot of forms to fill in after that, but one of my friends (an RE teacher) stuck a photo of my face onto a picture of Fireman Sam, which made me smile at least!
