Great question! I haven’t been looking at fossil pollen for too long so I haven’t seen any that’s particularly old yet, but some scientists working near Sao Paulo (not all that far from my area) have found pollen that’s about 130,000 years old! I don’t think mine will be that old (more likely to be 12,000 or less), but that’s still cool.
In just general life, I don’t know what would be the oldest fossil I’ve seen – depends how old the ones at various natural history museums are, really! Apparently the one in London might have specimens that are 240 million (240,000,000) years old, but I don’t know if I’ve seen those ones in particular..!
