      Wow, that’s a new one! I have no reason to disbelieve that he committed suicide in his bunker.

      Interesting! I had never actually heard of this conspiracy theory until now. It’s completely new to me.

      However, I think it probably is most likely he died in his bunker in Berlin. Hitler is such a massive figure, who has had such a big impact on our history, that I think it would be extremely difficult to go undercover undetected.

      I have heard this conspiracy theory before, and it’s true some Nazis did escape to South America (Josef Mengele, for example, who did horrific things at Auschwitz, fled to Argentina in 1949). It’s almost certainly not true of Hitler though – virtually no historians think it happened, and I think it’s very hard to imagine someone with his personality a) escaping unnoticed, and b) lying low for the rest of his life. I’m sure historians are right that he died in Berlin in the last days of WW2.
