🙁 There are mice in the labs at my work I think. Thankfully I don’t deal with mice at all – I mostly work on computers. If I were to do biological experiments myself, I think I’d have to do them on plants or some micro-organism like yeast. I don’t eat animals or wear leather – I’m a real softie 😉

When we’re finished with our experiments, we put them to sleep.
Legally we have to do this, the Home Office requires it.
We can’t release them into the wild because they’d get eaten very quickly and also because some of them have genetic mutations that we don’t want spreading to mice in the wild.
So we do it painlessly and quickly, by giving them an anaesthetic gas.
Still, I don’t find this easy to do at all.

I don’t do anything with mice or their brains 🙂 I’m fairly lucky that I don’t have to work with animals in my work.
